WHY REGIONAL SUPPLY CHAINS MATTER: Resolute’s new Regional Procurement Policy Guidelines encourage growth of local businesses

As part of our efforts to promote the economic and social development of the communities in which Resolute operates, we are implementing Regional Procurement Policy Guidelines.

What steps will Resolute take to promote the development of regional procurement?

  • We will improve the visibility of these businesses via access to an online registration portal.
  • We will encourage larger and non-regional vendors to seek opportunities to include qualified regional vendors in their own tenders and service offerings.
  • We will build regional capacity through training, mentoring and financially partnering with specific projects and businesses.

The company’s new Regional Procurement Policy Guidelines will apply first to our woodlands, wood products, hydro, pulp and paper operations within our Canadian operating regions of Abitibi, Capitale-Nationale, Côte-Nord, Mauricie, Nord-du-Québec, Northwest Ontario, Outaouais and Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. The guidelines will be rolled out across our U.S. operating regions in a subsequent phase.

The new guidelines complement Resolute’s Procurement Policies and Procedures and are intended to work alongside our Aboriginal Procurement Policy Guidelines.
