Resolute Sets New SBTi-validated Climate Targets for Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG Emissions

Resolute is pleased to announce new climate goals that have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

Climate action has long been a cornerstone of Resolute’s sustainability strategy. Having surpassed our 2025 greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction target ahead of schedule, we continue to increase expectations of our own performance. That’s why we have committed to a 41.5% reduction in absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2026 from a 2015 base year, as well as a 16.5% reduction in scope 3 emissions within the same timeframe.

SBTi has validated that these targets conform to the SBTi Criteria and Recommendations (version 4.2), and that our scope 1 and 2 target ambition is in line with a well-below 2°C trajectory. The target boundary includes biogenic emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.

Science-based targets are emission reduction goals in line with what the latest climate science says is needed to prevent the worst impacts of climate change. SBTi – a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) – defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting and independently assesses companies’ targets.

Resolute is proud to join a thousand organizations worldwide that are leading the zero-carbon transition by setting emissions reduction targets in line with SBTi. For more information, visit sciencebasedtargets.org.
