Resolute’s 2021 Sustainability Performance and 2022 Targets

Resolute today released highlights of our 2021 environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. As disclosed earlier today as part of our first quarter results, we surpassed our 30% greenhouse gas (GHG) emission (scope 1 and 2) reduction target, cutting them by 34% compared to 2015 levels.

Since year-2000, our climate initiatives have reduced scope 1 and 2 emissions at our pulp, paper and tissue mills by 86%, the equivalent of more than 8.6 million metric tons of CO2 equivalents per year, comparable to taking close to 2 million cars off the road.

In 2021, we also took our performance to the next level by achieving a world-class Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) incident rate of 0.47. The company continues to demonstrate a commitment toward a long-term aspirational goal of zero injury, with more than half of our facilities completing the year without a single recordable incident.

Other highlights of Resolute’s 2021 sustainability performance are detailed in the suite of leaflets available for download on our website:
