A recent report by the International Boreal Forest Research Association (IBFRA) sheds new light on how sustainable forest management can yield positive climate impacts.
The report supports the determination of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recognizing the role of sustainable forest management in reducing forest conversion to non-forest uses, maintaining or enhancing forest carbon stocks, maintaining forest carbon sinks and limiting the impact of natural disturbances like fires.
