Marc Bédard, our just-retired vice president of forestry, has received the highest accolade from his colleagues and industry peers.
On September 20, Marc accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) for helping to advance our industry’s leadership on sustainability practices.
The prestigious honor, part of FPAC’s Awards of Excellence program, is a fitting conclusion to a 35-year career, all spent working as a forest engineer for Resolute and its predecessor companies. Most notably, Marc spearheaded the introduction of Resolute’s very first third-party certification programs for our forestry practices, a standard of excellence that contributes to our industry’s global reputation for sustainable forestry.
“I will cherish this award, particularly because it comes from colleagues and peers, who I greatly respect. I also want to thank Resolute, above all for giving me the career of a lifetime. I am proud to have had the opportunity to educate and reassure our stakeholders – customers, European delegations, First Nations and environmental organizations – about the extensive work we are doing to keep our forests healthy while providing essential services, including mitigating climate change.”
FPAC annually bestows its Awards of Excellence on the women and men in our industry who help make our sector a world leader in sustainable forest management and who are advancing the environmental, social, and economic benefits of forestry in Canada.
We invite you to hear directly from Marc about his lifetime of dedication to the forest products industry.
