In the spring of 2021, Resolute responded to the Government of Quebec’s call to companies to join COVID-19 vaccination efforts: we proposed managing a regional vaccination hub in partnership with the Cégep de St-Félicien. The clinic opened in mid-May, and has since administered nearly 9,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Following the end of the clinic’s regular operations on July 30, there will be two additional clinic dates: August 6 and 13. The CIUSS Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean will continue to offer vaccination services in the region after this date.
As part of our proposal, Resolute absorbed nearly all of the costs associated with the clinic, including salaries, equipment purchases, the time and support of our employees, as well as other related expenses. The Cégep de St-Félicien provided the space in which the clinic was held, as well as administrative support.
The health and safety of our employees, as well as the well-being of our operating communities, have been our utmost concern since the coronavirus began to spread. In our view, the benefits of a healthy and secure population far outweigh the expense.
We are grateful to the 140 volunteers and employees who contributed to this initiative; the Cégep de St-Félicien for their collaboration; and all those who took the opportunity to receive the vaccine.
