Resolute Golfers Raise Another $43,000 for Children in Need

The team at our Coosa Pines (Alabama) pulp mill has done it again! Through the Alabama Forestry Association’s 27th Annual Log-a-Load for Kids golf tournament, they raised a record $43,000 in support of the Children’s Hospital Intervention and Prevention Services (CHIPS) Center of the Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham. This sum includes individual contributions from employees at Coosa Pines as well as our Talladega (Alabama) chip mill, bringing the mill’s total donation since 1994 to an impressive $561,000.

CHIPS promotes health and healing for children who have experienced abuse or neglect, providing free medical examinations, counseling and therapy, as well as social work services. The Center treats hundreds of children each year, and has seen an increased need since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The hugely popular event was sold out two weeks before it took place. A total of 144 golfers and 25 helpers and guests attended. This year, Richard Tremblay, Resolute’s senior vice president, pulp and paper operations, was on hand to lend his support.

Thank you to our Coosa Pines and Talladega teams for your ongoing commitment to kids!
