Resolute congratulates Université Laval scholarship winners

Eleven outstanding undergraduate students from Université Laval have each earned $1,000 scholarships, sponsored annually by Resolute, to support their studies during the 2020-2021 academic year. Université Laval, located in Québec City (Québec), is renowned for the quality of its programs, which count a number of Resolute employees as alumni.

Of the eleven scholarship recipients, five are studying Forest Management and Environment (Félix Baril-Veillette, Frédéric Brunet, Pierina Désourdy, Emmanuel Jean and Ann-Julie Lévesque); three are studying Forestry Operations (Guillaume Fortin, Jérémy Fortin and Raphael Marcotte); Sabrina Allard is studying Geography; Camille Bédard is studying Biology; and Jean-Sébastien Lavoie is studying Wood Engineering. Training in these fields will equip students with a strong foundation upon which to build a rewarding career in the forest products sector, should they choose.

Each spring, Resolute also provides scholarships for graduate students pursuing Master’s or PhD degrees in fields pertaining to forestry or wood products. Over the years, Resolute has provided substantial financial support to universities and colleges to improve education outcomes in our operating communities and to help spark innovation in the forest products sector. In 2019, Resolute donated funds for scholarships, research grants, buildings and other needs totaling close to $402,000.

To these students, Resolute offers warm congratulations. This year has already been uniquely challenging for students, and we recognize your patience and resilience as well as your exceptional academic effort. We wish you every success, in your studies and beyond!
