In November, Resolute was presented with the 2019 American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) Sustainability Award for Leadership in Energy Efficiency/Greenhouse Gas Reductions during AF&PA’s annual Presidents Forum. This marks the third consecutive year we have been recognized for our sustainability performance.
According to the judging panel, the caliber of this year’s submissions was exceptional. The judges were particularly impressed that our concrete environmental actions allowed us to significantly improve energy efficiency as well as reduce scope 1 and 2 absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by a remarkable 81% compared to 2000 levels.
Resolute focuses on improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions to secure our position as a leader in the development of new, sustainable products that have a lower carbon footprint.
As a member of the AF&PA, we endorse the Association’s Better Practices, Better Planet 2020 sustainability initiative and its industry-wide goal of surpassing a 20% reduction in GHG emissions by 2020 based on 2005 levels.
