Resolute’s goal to be a more profitable and sustainable organization begins with our employees. As we continue to transform our business, we are equally focused on transforming our workforce into one that is more diverse and inclusive. We are committed to respecting the opinions and experiences of all employees, encouraging everyone to achieve their full potential.
Our Human Resource teams are reaching out to more women as well as to other underrepresented candidate populations, including immigrants, refugees, Indigenous peoples, Latino and African Americans, other visible minorities and international recruits.
In the United States, our Human Resource leaders are working to identify strategic opportunities to partner with a cross-section of organizations to enhance our candidate pools. For example, our Calhoun (Tennessee) mill has implemented a plan that includes partnering with other manufacturing companies and resource groups, such as Women in Manufacturing (WiM), in order to recruit diverse talent.
In Canada, we are working with the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) to foster diversity and inclusion across the forest products industry. Building on last year’s gender equality initiative, the new #TakeYourPlace social media campaign encourages women to choose forestry and to consider the wide range of career opportunities our industry offers. In addition, Resolute is working with the Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF) in developing a national action plan to engage, attract, retain and advance women in Canada’s forest products sector.
We are also asking each and every employee to actively contribute to making Resolute a place that is safe, free from harassment and discrimination, and one that embraces people from different backgrounds.
“We are committed to making Resolute a great place to work as well as the employer of choice within our industry and in the communities where we live and work,” stated Yves Laflamme, president and chief executive officer. “It is critical to our future success that all employees work together to create and maintain a supportive, welcoming and inclusive work environment.”
