Many students find school life difficult, especially if they are in any way different from their classmates because of their looks, their family circumstances or their financial situation.
That is why the novel Wonder is so beloved by young readers everywhere. It follows the life of 5th grader Auggie Pullman, born with a facial deformity, as he tries to fit in at a new school. The story is empowering, inspiring and spiritually uplifting.
On November 17th, employees from Resolute’s Catawba pulp and paper mill in South Carolina surprised a classroom of local 5th graders by giving them copies of the book. The surprise was captured by the local television station and was followed by a visit to the town movie theatre to see the film Wonder, starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Jacob Tremblay.
