Resolute’s Calhoun (Tennessee) and Grenada (Mississippi) mills took top honors at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA) first-ever carbon reduction awards ceremony held in Gatlinburg (Tennessee) on November 16-17.
Both operations won in the Leadership Circle category, which recognizes TVA customers who achieve the lowest carbon emission rates during the year.
Grenada newsprint mill General Manager Rob Wise accepted the awards on behalf of the company, noting that such recognition serves to reinforce Resolute’s commitment to continuously improving its operations and driving overall cost savings.
TVA developed its carbon accounting program after Resolute and another industrial customer approached it seeking specific carbon emission data for use in planning and sustainability reporting.
