Invests more than C$550,000 in health care and economic development
Resolute gave $400,000 to the Domaine-du-Roy and Maria-Chapdelaine regional county municipalities (RCMs) on August 17. In addition, the Roberval and Dolbeau-Mistassini hospital foundations, the Canadian Cancer Society and the Thierry LeRoux Foundation will share $151,000 thanks to the Resolute Golf Classic.
We made a commitment to contribute $200,000 a year for five years to each of the funds created by the Domaine-du-Roy and Maria-Chapdelaine RCMs; in total, $1 million to each fund. We are proud to announce that the two RCMs have received a total of $2 million to date. The funds will be used to develop economic diversification and to foster innovation in the economy of Lac-Saint-Jean.
“The purpose of the two funds is to contribute to the creation of new businesses and the expansion of existing businesses in the forest products sector in order to create new jobs and consolidate existing jobs in the two territories, and Resolute has fulfilled its commitment by contributing $2 million to these funds thus far,” said Jean-Pierre Boivin, prefect of the Maria-Chapdelaine RCM, and Ghislaine M. Hudon, prefect of the Domaine-du-Roy RCM.
“Resolute has been working proactively with the region’s communities and businesses to create significant economic opportunities,” they added. “These relationships are highly advantageous for the communities, as the funds will contribute to an upturn in local economic activity.”
Moreover, the 2017 edition of the Resolute Golf Classic once again enabled the company to give a record $141,000 to the Dolbeau-Mistassini and Roberval hospital foundations for the purchase of equipment as well as $5,000 each to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Fondation Thierry LeRoux.
