The 13th annual International Business Awards (IBA’s) took place in Rome on October 21st and Resolute came home a winner, once again.

Our entry “Demonstrating sustainability leadership: How rigorous reporting shifts culture and drives performance” won a bronze Stevie® in the category of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program of the Year in the Americas. Rob Hilbrink, our VP Sales Europe, accepted the award on behalf of Resolute at the gala ceremony and presentation.

Stevie bronzeBeyond recognizing Resolute’s strong CSR performance in 2015 – including our best safety performance ever, the signing of a ground-breaking First Nations agreements, our 71% reduction in absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and the substantial reduction in our environmental incidents – the judges applauded our sustainability data collection, reporting and communication systems.

They agreed that our internal reporting review has not only improved overall confidence in our data and provided a stronger understanding of the sustainability challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, it has facilitated a cultural shift within Resolute from reactive to proactive planning, preparation and prevention. This proactive approach has, in turn, driven performance improvements at Resolute and deeper engagement with our stakeholders.

In conferring this award to Resolute, the judges’ commented, “Strong implementation of reporting metrics to improve business and CSR performance.”; “Rigorous reporting is the backbone of any initiative.”; “Outstanding results! This is really the CSR campaign of the year – what an impact to the environment!”

The 2016 IBA’s – known as the “International Stevies” – attracted more than 3,800 nominations from organizations of all types, in more than 60 countries.
