Fairmont team honored for paper recycling efforts

Resolute’s Fairmont team has once again been recognized by Marion County for being a recycling leader and for making a significant contribution to the local community. On April 20th, the Fairmont pulp mill – and General Manager Brian Wilmoth – were both recognized by the Recycling Coalition of West Virginia as Recycling Champions.

The Coalition recognized Resolute’s partnership with the Marion County Solid Waste Authority to recycle paper in all county schools. The mill arranges for each school to receive compensation for the paper collected and also purchased several bins to jumpstart the project. Starting with a single bin at East Park Elementary, there are now bins at 13 schools.      Thanks to Resolute, schools recycled 59 short tons of paper from April until December last year, with another 1.5 short tons in January of this year.
