Forest products industry with the best reputation in the world – Canada

Resolute reputation

If you’ve ever wondered just how ‘green’ Canada’s forest products industry really is, you’ll want to check out FPAC’s latest publication.

Canada’s forest products industry has the best environmental reputation in the world according to survey results featured in the latest brochure from the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC), “Growing a Greener Tomorrow.”

The publication cites findings from a 2014 survey of international customers. It’s a significant milestone because it shows that Resolute’s work as part of this country’s forest products industry is making a difference. By embracing strong environmental standards and helping to build a green economy, Canada has become known as a trusted source of legal and sustainable forest products.

And as an industry, we’re not standing still. FPAC’s Vision2020 plan has the sector pledging to reduce its environmental footprint by an additional 35% by the end of the decade.

That’s work that is built on some already impressive credentials: Canada holds 43% of the world’s certified forests and FPAC member companies’ pulp and paper mills have slashed greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 70% since 1990.

Resolute has worked hard to establish ourselves as a leader in sustainable forestry and overall sustainability matters and we are pleased to have contributed to Canada’s current strong standing as one of the world’s most sustainable sources of paper, lumber, pulp and other forest products.
