Resolute Connections at FPAC Awards of Excellence

Three current and past Resolute employees have been recognized by the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) Awards of Excellence program.

Marie-Philippe Drouin, a superintendent at our Alma (Quebec) mill, received the 2019 Rising Star Award. After participating in Resolute’s Internship Program for Engineers in 2013, Marie-Philippe was initially hired as a junior chemical engineer and quickly promoted to coordinator of thermomechanical pulping (TMP) operations. After transferring to the Alma mill in 2016, Marie-Philippe was appointed superintendent – TMP. Her skill and initiative have led her to take on increasingly greater challenges and responsibilities, inspiring her team and colleagues and tackling her work with energy, vision and passion.

François Dumoulin, a forest engineer who spent his entire 40-year career with Resolute and its predecessor companies, received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2013, François was named vice president, Forestry, a position he held until his retirement in 2018. Today, François is an expert advisor to president and chief executive officer Yves Laflamme.

Pascal Cloutier, mayor of Dolbeau-Mistassini (Quebec), won the Community Champion Award. The award is presented to an individual who values our sector’s contribution to the environment and the economy, and is a proponent of Canada’s forest products sector and its workers. As a former union leader and maintenance mechanic at Resolute’s Dolbeau mill, Pascal has advocated passionately for boreal communities whose livelihoods have been targeted by activist misinformation.

We are very proud of Marie-Philippe, François and Pascal, who share common traits of passion, integrity and dedication to excellence. We commend their achievements and wish them continued success.
