Resolute was one of the big winners at the Best in Biz Awards (North America) 2018, which were announced on November 28 in New York City. Winning a total of four awards, we were most notably recognized by the independent business awards program for our success in reducing our environmental/carbon footprint, and for our achievements in sustainability disclosures.
Resolute received a gold award as the Most Environmentally Responsible Company of the Year for successfully reducing our footprint by improving the energy efficiency of our operations, producing renewable energy, and reducing waste as well as our reliance on fossil fuels. Our Green Heritage® 100% recycled tissue products won a silver award for the Environmental Program of the Year, while the judging panel praised our level of communication excellence, awarding us a silver for the combined disclosure of our business and sustainability results in our 2017 Annual and Sustainability Report.
These multiple wins led Resolute to receive special recognition as one of the five most awarded companies of the 2018 competition, alongside business icons like insurance firm Aflac Inc. and information technology giant IBM.
This was the eighth year of the program that selects the very best in North American business, fielding close to 700 entries from companies across Canada and the United States. Honors were conferred in 70 different categories by a panel of editors and reporters from some of North America’s top-tier publications, including Forbes, Wired, Associated Press, The New York Times and The Globe and Mail.
