Éric Paradis, vice president of Business Development, Wood Products at Resolute, has been elected chairman of the Canadian Wood Council (CWC), an organization dedicated to promoting the use of Canadian wood products through education and communication. The CWC’s vision is to be passionate, credible agents of change leading an advanced and sustainable wood culture. The council produces technical information about wood products and communicates it to the construction and academic communities to ensure knowledge is transferred and target audiences are educated about wood as a superior building product.
Over a 24-year career in the wood products business, Eric has amassed considerable experience in sales, marketing and merchandising. He joined Resolute in 2012. Eric holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Université Laval.
As board chair, Eric will oversee the business and affairs of the council, in conjunction with a board of directors representing wood products companies across Canada. His two-year term will also include participation in three committees: Human Resources, Nominations and U.S. Affairs.
