Resolute is starting the year out right, receiving more global recognition for our leadership in sustainability.
We were honored to recently win the U.K.-based Corporate LiveWire’s Excellence in Sustainable Forest Products Award, representing The Americas category of the 2016 Innovation & Excellence Awards. Check out the full guide online.
These awards recognize individuals and businesses, in a wide range of sectors, which champion innovation and excellence in their respective fields and industries.
In recognizing Resolute as a leader in the forest products industry, the judging panel highlighted our track record of performance over the past several years including: Resolute’s 100% sustainable and responsible forest management certification and 100% chain of custody certification; our world-class safety performance; ongoing reductions in environmental incidents; our early adoption of the new gold standard in sustainability reporting – the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 framework; an impressive 70% greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction since 2000; and, our continued expansion of consultative and commercial partnerships with Canada’s First Nations and Aboriginal communities.
Additionally, the judges recognized our interdependent business and sustainability strategies, highlighting our innovative leadership in reporting by combining our financial and sustainability results in our annual reports since 2012.
