Canada’s Clean50 Organization and Delta Management Group has chosen Richard Garneau and the Resolute Team to join the prestigious Clean50 list for 2015 in the Manufacturing or Transportation Category.
The Clean50 Award was created in 2011 by Delta Management, a Toronto-based search firm that specializes in “green professionals.” The award identifies and recognizes 50 individuals (or small teams) who have made the greatest contributions to sustainable development or “clean capitalism” in Canada, in 16 different categories.
Over the past several years, sustainability has been front and center for Resolute. Sustainability is reflected in our vision, our values and in the way our team conducts business every day. As a truly sustainable company, we carefully balance environmental, social and economic considerations. It is only by balancing all three defining sustainability elements that Resolute can strengthen its long-term competitiveness – becoming a more efficient company, a better employer, a stronger partner for our customers, and an active member of the communities in which we work and live.
As an organization, a sampling of our sustainability work has included: establishment of global, industry-leading greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets and participation in the prestigious World Wildlife Fund Climate Savers program; expansion of our sustainable forest management and chain of custody certifications; improvement in our overall energy efficiency; expansion of our collaboration and partnerships with First Nations as well as engagement in our local operating communities; significant improvement in our safety performance with the establishment of a “Total Safety Organization”; and complete transparency of reporting utilizing the platinum Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard.
